August round-up

The CareHQ video guide section.
There are now over 40 video guides available for CareHQ.

This month we overhauled the video guides and knowledge base sections of our website to make sure they remain easy to browse and search as we continue to add new content. We also released a number of improvements and bug fixes.

Overhauling video guides and the knowledge base

The first thing we look for when we're evaluating new products or services is documentation. In our experience the best companies and products have great documentation and are happy to make it available to both prospective and existing clients. On the other hand a lack of documentation, poorly organised documentation, or documentation hidden behind a form or sign up process are all things we consider red flags.

We're committed to building great documentation. This month we uploaded an additional 10 video guides and introduced the new knowledge base along with our first how-to articles.

Catch typos in email addresses

Invalid email addresses can reduce your conversion rate, delay invoice payments and frustrate residents and their families. CareHQ now makes it easier to catch typos in email addresses with real-time checks for common spelling mistakes and domain validation.

Other updates & fixes

  • Added API read endpoints for service user contacts.
  • Added support for exporting contacts related to care enquiries in a waiting list.
  • CareHQ can now be configured to allow clients to use only the care enquiry management features.
  • The exported invoices CSV for Xero has been updated to include the following additional columns; Service user, Location and Location (Ref).
  • It's now possible to configure the TrackingName1 column within the exported invoices CSV for Xero.
  • When configuring Autumna or Carehome.co.uk integrations it is now possible to set a list of locations to exclude when importing leads.
  • A fail safe check has been added to prevent users being suspended when they are assigned as a catchall for one or more locations. The fail safe prevents the user from being suspended and links to the relevant locations so that they can be assigned new catchall users.
  • When a member of the CareHQ team signs in to provide support we now limit their session time to 1 hour (after 1 hour of inactivity they are automatically signed out). Previously session times were set to the period configured for the account, which in some cases can be substantially longer, in those instances this step reduces the risks associated with longer session lifespans when we provide support.
  • The error message presented to users when a file is uploaded without a file extension now provides a clear explanation (previously the error message was generic and unhelpful).
  • The XLSM file extension has been whitelisted for file uploads.
  • Selecting rows on the care tracker report when invoicing is not enabled now links through to the tracker page for the service user (previously a 403 was presented).
  • The service user field in line items for invoices and credit notes can now be left blank.
  • The revenue performance report has been updated to correct an issue where in some scenarios multiple overlapping billing contracts for the same service user would cause an error in the revenue figures for a location.
  • The change log for bookings can now be viewed by all relevant users (previously a 403 was presented).
