Mailchimp integration now available

Today we released Mailchimp integration for CareHQ automating the process of keeping your contacts on CareHQ up to date with your Mailchimp audiences.

Our Mailchimp integration automatically synchronises care seekers, resident key contacts (such as family and friends) as well as location contacts (such as social workers, suppliers, local authorities contacts, etc.) with your Mailchimp audiences (formally known as lists).

Mailchimp integration can be setup in a few simple steps:

  • Create an API key for CareHQ within your Mailchimp account.
  • Make a note of the audience Id(s) you want CareHQ to export to (this can be found under your audience settings at the bottom of the page).
  • Speak to a member of the CareHQ team and they'll get you set up within a few minutes.

And that's it, once the integration is setup changes you make in CareHQ will be reflected in your Mailchimp account.

Multiple audience support

Many organisations use a single audience within their Mailchimp account and rely on segmentation to create individual mailing lists. However, in some cases you may have multiple audiences (for example an organisation may split B2C and B2B contacts into different audiences).

If you have multiple audiences then you can choose which audience CareHQ will export each type of contact to. For example care seeker and resident key contacts might be synced to a B2C audience whereas location contacts could be synced to a separate B2B audience. Just let us know what audience Id to use for each type of contact when you request integration setup.

Automatic tagging of contacts

CareHQ automatically adds tags for each of the contacts it exports to your Mailchimp account. Tags make it easy to group your contacts into targeted mailing lists using Mailchimp segments. You could use segments to target social workers who've previously made a care enquiry or create a list of care seekers who are looking for respite and will be funding it privately.

Mailchimp segments are automatically applied to your contacts so as your data changes your mailing lists reflect those changes.

Automatic removal of contacts associated with a resident who passes away

One key feature we've added as part of the integration is to automatically remove any contact from the mailing list with a personal relationship (friend or family) to a resident who passes away.

We worked with a number of clients when implementing our Mailchimp integration and this feature was requested by everyone. Automatically removing such contacts reduces the risk of sending marketing emails that may unintentionally cause additional duress at a difficult time.
